Bent Gable Design is the creative studio of Brenda Bent and Karen Gable. After blazing Toronto’s fashion scene in the 1980s – 90s, the friends joined forces to shift their artistry from clothing to creating environments, furnishings and objects.
An antidote to the banality of every day life, their private homes, restaurants and one-of-a-kind objects are inimitable art. Bent Gable’s portfolio is a virtual cabinet de curiosité, expressing fine craftsmanship, unexpected pairings, playful escapism and great taste.
The duo personally manage each step of the process from design through to completion including oftentimes fabricating custom interventions — all the while keeping an eye on giving their clients the best possible value and quality.
Notable projects include restaurants for some of Toronto’s most famous chef entrepreneurs including Rosalinda for Grant van Gameren; Luckee, Bent and Kid Lee for Susur Lee; Pizzeria Libretto’s Ossington Avenue Flagship location for Oliver & Bonacini; and The Thompson Hotel Diner, a Toronto classic.
